Grade Mar M247 bar and rodis a nickel-based superalloy employed in high-performance applications, primarily in gas turbines. The alloy’s chemical makeup includes nickel, roughly 60–70%; chromium, 14–16%; cobalt, 8–10%; molybdenum, 3–4%; tungsten, 2–3%; aluminum, 3–4%; and titanium, 0.5–1.5%. It further contains trace elements such as carbon, silicon, manganese, and boron. Among its mechanical properties are high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and oxidation resistance, making it well-suited for extreme conditions. Yield strength falls between 100–150 ksi (690–1035 MPa), tensile strength around 150–210 ksi (1035–1450 MPa), along with a high fatigue strength.

Yes, Grade Mar M247 bar can be joined through suitable welding methods such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or laser welding, though preheating and post-weld heat treatment are frequently advised.
Yes, when welding Gr Mar M247 Bar, the consumables commonly employed include Inconel 625, Inconel 718, or comparable high-nickel alloys to guarantee compatibility with its corrosion-resistant and high-temperature characteristics.
Grade Mar M247, mainly employed for turbine blades, typically withstands galvanic corrosion because of its rich alloy composition. Nevertheless, the danger of galvanic corrosion may emerge when it is paired with unlike metals.
Owing to their excellent creep resistance and thermal stability, Grade Mar M247 bars and rods are employed across numerous high-temperature and high-stress applications. They see extensive use in the aerospace industry for manufacturing turbine blades, jet engine components, and structural parts subjected to extreme conditions. They also serve the energy sector in applications involving gas turbines and heat exchangers. These Mar M247 rods are well suited for industrial uses in producing high-performance molds, dies, and fasteners. Their characteristics allow them to resist oxidation and corrosion at elevated temperatures, rendering them invaluable for use in environments demanding durability and reliability.
